Wow for so simple a concept they can still mess that one up, is there even a way to put it in much simpler terms i will try for your sake: "If i am surrounded by a group crazed dogs whether they be a pit bull, a boxer, bull dog, mastiff or any other type of dog they all seek do do me harm therefor they're not for me. Come on atheists you all use such big words its not that hard to figure out.

That belief in a higher power is merely an instinctive facet of our minds in the world of survival of the fittest.
We have a natural drive to side with the more powerful force, so when you are at your weakest (for example, the impoverished living in a third world country), your faith is strongest because you have no one else to side with. Notice that the rich are far less religious because they are the strongest, and don't need an invisible force to pretend to comfort them.
It's still something that I haven't heard a great argument against, but it doesn't discount God's presence for me, so I still believe.

Probably just the fact that we don't find physical evidence supporting Him.
Christians will respond that God is spiritual and not physical, but if He created a physical world, then He is capable of leaving a physical "paper trail".
I don't know and don't care why He doesn't, but until evidence can be shown that disproves God, I will continue to believe in Him, since He offers a better explanation for everything than other theories.

I've heard some athiests and agnostics ask: If God created the Heavens and the Earth, who created God - or how did God come to be?
...makes you wonder...

Don't read this, I'm not Christian...
Isn't it sad that they can't even answer THIS question? It doesn't ask wheter God is real, or if anything has them almost convinced he isn't...it just asks what the best reason they've heard is. If that's not a sign of closed-mindedness, I'm a teletubby. They must think God is standing over their shoulder with his Hell gun, watching them type.

The ones that get to me the most are the goodness of God compared with his past (and some of his current) actions...and inactions.

my father in law whom does not believe in Godjust says he has never found a reason to believe its never been proven to him. He works for what he has and gets what he works for. no higher being is helping him because he never gets hand outs he works hard for what he has.
and for the record in case you are trying to decide if there is a God. i just want to tell you he exist. he is a wonderful friend . and He loves you and everyone else.

Catholic.
And sorry to bug you but, because my faith is strong, no arguments can sway me.
Plus, all the arguments I've heard are there is no God.
