they give us a problem at the border in(NY) because we cant get in anywhere.

They shouldn't give you a problem but if they do just say you've tried to get in everywhere and couldn't. Canada is pretty nice about stuff like that and wont care.
Since you're coming to Canada via Niagra Falls you should stop there for a day or two....plenty to do!!
Quebec is amazing, where there are you going? I've been to Montreal, Laval, Kipawa and a few other places but Kipawa was my fave!

If you get stopped you can be ticketed. Get the sticker before you leave.
