What foods are good to eat if you run for exercise and want to recover quickly?

Bananas have always been my go-to. Bananas on the way out and egg sandwich when I get back.

Let's be realistic here. How much jogging are we talking about? Normal food intake suffices for most people. If you're doing 6 miles a day, then yeah, carbohydrates right after a run are said to replace your energy faster.

But the body has to do some recovery that only time will help.

I always had a banana and coffee before running, then whatever when it's over.

Peanut butter banana sandwich on oatmeal bread with a protein drink mixed with water is my favorite.

My fiance likes Ensure drinks - the high protein kind. You can chug it and get your protein and nutrients back post haste.
