Honey, it sounds like you may be slightly over weight. You should talk with your doctor about it. Walking is the best exercises...You should walk briskly for at least 30 mins per day. If you can't do it at first, just gradually build up to it. Definitely ditch the pop! You can drink diet pop though. Also, you should try to drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. Also, you should try to get active in your school sports teams...Then you will be more active, thus burning more calories, but, having fun while you are doing it. When you feel tempted to eat junk, remember that being healthy and looking better will feel a hell of a lot better and last longer than that junk you want to eat! You are in control! Good luck! You can do it!

Yes, you are overweight.* Your BMI (body mass index) is 26.9 which falls into the "Overweight" category (Overweight = 25-29.9).

Your BMI should be 18.5-24.9.

Drink as much water as you feel comfortable. Cutting out soda is a really good idea. Exercise is good, but also try the little things. Walk to the store if you can. Go up the stairs instead of the elevator. Do housework. Do anything to keep yourself moving. You're still young and your metabolism is at its fastest so lose the weight while you can.

You can find a BMI calculator here:

Make sure to talk to your doctor. He is the one who can give you the best ideas for you.

*A BMI calcualtor uses your height and weight to get your body mass index. Since this is body mass, a perfectly healthy, muscular person can be overweight since muscle weighs more than fat.

Yes, you are slightly overweight. Your BMI (body mass index) is 26.9 but you only have to lose about 12 pounds to be back in the "normal" range. (Learn more about BMI here: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/)

Follow a healthy diet and start to get new good habits. Here's a place to start:

1. cut out all soda and surgary drinks
2. drink at least 64 oz. of water per day
3. eat lots of fruits and veggies
4. switch to lean protein (chicken and fish)
5. switch to whole grains instead of processed white bread and pasta
6. exercise, exercise, exercise - at least 30 minutes per day

It is best to try and lost 1 to 2 pounds per week. This is the healthiest way and will also help you keep off the weight for a long time.

Good luck!

You should lose a couple of pounds - especially while you're so young (it's easier when you're a kid!). You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and eliminate soda and fruit juices. If you start drinking water, you'll find you'll start craving it - you just need to start drinking it. Soda is full of chemicals, sugar, calories, yuck yuck yuck.

Any amount of moving will help. Just go walking in your neighborhood for as long as you can and build up your stamina as you go along.

Good luck! You should be proud of yourself for even thinking about making healthy lifestyle changes.

If you really want to loose weight you should start eating healthy. Like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. You should avoid junk food and sodas. You should also exercise at least 5 times a week for no less than 45 min. Oh, and about the water you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

You aren't overweight, but you are at risk of becoming overweight. Eat healthy, drink lots of water. Count your calories. Some people don't realize how many calories are in their mocha latte. Condiments(sour cream, butter etc) are really fattening. Walk or jog as long as its comfortable and slowly work your way up to doing this 5 times a week. If you're eating fat or carbs always eat a protein with them to balance it out.

yes I'm sorry you are too heavy for your height. you should be closer to 110-115 lbs. eat a well balanced diet with proper portions, drink lots of water, and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. drink as much water as you can, but don't go over 64 ounces a day. diet soda or tea are fine, too. juices have too much sugar, so eat fresh fruit.
