My boyfriends younger brother is almost 4 and he still isn't potty trained and he has no interest in learning either it's almost like he enjoys wearing a diaper? it's not just that though his father (my bf's step-dad) Let's him drink so much coke and eat so much candy that his teeth are all rotting out and had to have them pulled, he has no bed time, he stays up till 11 at night, he doesn't speak well and he has no desire at all to learn anything. Im worried that his father is ruining him, i truly feel like he is an unfit parent. Is there anything that i can do or say or do you think that it is completly not my place i love this little boy like my own brother i just think that it's a little weird that hes so far behind. Is there anything i can do or do i just have to let it be?!

I really think this is something that your boyfriend may want to approach with his father. What does you boyfriend say about this stuff? Does he have a fear of talking to his father about this. If not, coach him on what to say. Everything you stated above needs to be addressed.

I think it's great that you are concerned but if there is no obvious neglect or abuse but just bad parenting it will be a hard case for social services to battle.

you can tell his dad that when he gets in school he will have to be potty-trained. If he has not gone to the dentist by school the school will call child services and they will. I had this problem with a little boy I baby-sat. If he doesnt go to bed earlier he will have poor grades in school. You need to kindly explain all of this to him and include that he might get made fun of.

I'm not sure that it's your place to say anything since you're a kid yourself. So I'm not really sure what you can do. Maybe carefully tell your boyfriend your concerns and see what he says.

I think you should ask your b/f what he thinks about all of this ? and if he is not concerned then i think you should leave it alone . good luck .
