If Heaven is perfect, why would spirits there (i.e. family members) be allowed by God to look down on Earth, when Earth is not perfect? Thoughts?

The Bible does not specifically say whether people can look down on us who are still on the earth. It is highly likely that they cannot. Why? One, they would sometimes witness us sinning. Two, they would sometimes see things that would cause them grief. Three, people in heaven are so occupied with worshipping God and enjoying the glories of Heaven that they truly have no interest in what is happening here on earth. The very fact that they are free from sin, in heaven, and in God’s presence is enough for them to be happy. While it is possible that God allows people in heaven to look down upon their loved ones, the Bible gives us no reason to believe this actually occurs.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that not all of the righteous and faithful are or will be in heaven. The Bible says that God created the heavens for himself and the other spirit creatures he created, and that the earth was made for mankind. That has not changed! He still intends for the bulk of faithful mankind to be right here on earth, in paradisaical conditions. The spirit creatures that DO look down on us are also in place to help us here on earth. The angels are mighty in their own right, and Jehovah has them guiding and protecting His people! I would like to believe that they can, then I know at least I am not alone and the people I have lost are still with me at least in a way.
I guess one day we will all know that answer, but for now, I am just going to say I believe that they can!

they do not see us here. sometimes at death the soul is allowed to "visit" a person via a dream or something but they do not see what's going on here afterwards.

example my grandfather died. i had a dream a couple weeks afterward. he was standing on a bridge in the middle looking out. it was foggy. i walked towards him and as i got a few feet away he turned to me and said "Do God's will" and turned and walked across to the other side out of sight. i think it was a warning not to screw up like he did? dunno. reckin' i'll find out soon enough.

I have always understood that their recognition and memories of family, friends, etc. were taken away from them. I'm where I cannot look up the Bible reference so I cannot tell you where my understanding is based from.

That's a good question...

The bible is silent on that. But I wouldn't be surprised if they can.

Either way....I guess we'll just have to wait until we get there.
