I have a day of drinking coming up, and I heard that its best to have a glass of water for every beer/alcoholic drink that you have (Besides the regular 8 glasses a day). If I do this, will this cancel out/take away the buzz??

Yes, you will get less drunk drinking water betweeen drinks as it dillutes the alcohol in your system.

Water may keep you hydrated and prevent headaches the next morning, but it WON'T make your stomach feel any better. Alcohol damages your stomach and now matter how many gallons you try to drink, it won't do a thing to prevent it.

I can handle headaches in the morning - not the upset stomach all day.

As for while you're drinking, it's a good idea to drink water throughout the night, but I wouldn't say after every drink. If you fill your stomach up with that much liquid, you're just asking for trouble!

Water is huge help for avoiding hangovers. The mroe you drink the better, and it won't make the buzz any less nice/potent. Make sure you drink water that is room temperature (cold water is not as hydrating as luke warm water.)

One other thing you can do is drink a glass of milk before hand. That will coat your stomach (in case you decide to mix your spirits, beer, and wine.)

Enjoy your revels!

No, water does not cancel out the buzz. It keeps you hydrated so you won't have a hangover the next morning. Trust me, you can still get hammered while drinking plenty of water! Enjoy!!

It won't cancel the buzz or anything...it will keep you hydrated and maybe decrease your hangover the next day. You don't have to drink that much water though. Just stay hydrated. Alcohol dehydrates like a mofo. Have fun and be safe!

If you are drinking purely for the buzz, then you may have a problem. Drinking plenty of water is a great idea; you’ll have less of a head ache the following day.

no you should be fine, really the water drinking will be more helpful after drinking a lot. make sure you dont go to bed really really trashed- that results in a horrible hangover or sometimes you are still drunk the next day.

Smoke a joint before you drink and you won't have to worry about the buzz, or the water.

No, it will just help keep you hydrated. Alcohol dehydrates the body, that is the common reason for a hangover. Good luck.
