And it was not a test, would you? If that was the only way to get into heaven ?

You guys didn't answer my question, I said IF. IF he did, would you? "He wouldn't do that" isn't a very good answer.

well, if you consider how many people have actually killed their children because god told them to, , it is a relevant question, and if you consider that all religions have major events that involve "god" speaking to people, who is to say that god did not actually order them to kill their children? there is no way christians can prove it did not happen, as they clearly do believe god speaks to people on occasion, and every one has seen how mercurial gods are, it's entirely with in gods character to do something like this. So my advice is that if god tells you to do something, DO IT! or suffer the consequences, because you can never tell what kind of day god is having, he could be merciful and loving one day, and boom, the next day you might get vengeful god

It's a trick question. Most everyone you ask will say "God would never tell me to kill my children so the question is moot".
I certainly wouldn't want to admit it if I worshiped a deity that has instructed a man to kill his son the way that Abraham was instructed to kill Issac. At the time, Abraham did not know that it was a test, and was put into the same position that you are trying to get these people to imagine.
I notice that NOBODY said yes.

Do you have children? If you do, then how could you even ask this. There is nothing that could convince me to kill my children. NOTHING and NO ONE! And I have to ask why someone would want to worship any God/ess that would tell someone to kill their children in order to get passage into "heaven".
And for that person or persons that said "God would never ask you to kill...that would be murder.." here is a Bible quote for you..just incase you forgot. Genesis 22:1-12
Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!"
"Here I am," he replied.
Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."
My Goddess would never ask that of me..of that I am certain.

I would laugh in his face.... or at least imagine his face and laugh in that, and thank my personal Gods that I chose for a different religion that doesn't require killing anything or anyone to save me a place in the afterlife.

God could kiss my @ss at that point, I'd never hurt my kids for any reason. But since I don't believe in god, that'll never happen.

My God would never tell me anything like that, so I don't have to worry. Thanks for the question and have a great day!

god would never ask that...that'd be murder. Thou shalt not kill...thats a commandment. Why would he go around breaking his own commandment? that makes no sense whatsoever.
what made you think of this anyway?
