Many Protestant denominations say the Catholics are not Christians. The Pope say all other denominations other than Catholic are not on the true path and therefor not true Christians. JWs and LDS are considered by many to not be Christians. So who the heck ARE the Christians? Are there any?

Well, everyone is going to hell according to one sect or another...

Since if there is a hell the chances that I actually choose the correct religion are extremely slim, I'd rather not choose one at all, stay atheist, and live my life to the fullest.

I'm sure if there really is an all-powerful, all-knowing God, he's either a) a jackass - and who'd want to spend all eternity worshiping that, or b) includes logic with his omniscience and would understand my disbelief, and mercifully let me in anyway.

My version of Pascal's wager.

Only God can judge who the real Christians are. We are supposed to correct each other though. I don't think anyone on earth has the right to say "you are not a true Christian". The Pope is out of line IMO and actually should know better. We are supposed to know each other by "our fruits". God is not worried about what we call ourselves. He is watching how we conduct ourselves and knows what is in our hearts. Just love each. Let God decide, He's going to anyway.

God Bless.

True Christianity is based on living in harmony with and preaching the "good news" of God's Messianic Kingdom by Christ Jesus. The true Christian congregation is organized primarily to perform this global Scriptural assignment.

(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations

(Luke 9:6) They went through the territory from village to village, declaring the good news

(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

By stark contrast with so-called "religious" activists, however, Jehovah's Witnesses note pointedly that biblical "good news" is not about such things as abortion or homosexuality or the death penalty or Iraq or pharmaceuticals or psychiatry. Individual Jehovah's Witnesses may have opinions on such issues, but they do not advocate for or against these issues as though it were a primary message from God.

Sadly, so-called "religious" activists distract from the real message of God and obfuscate the bible's "Good News". These self-absorbed religionists focus so much attention of their human agendas that they ignore the godly teachings that can really help people.

Jehovah's Witnesses go from house to house to encourage and upbuild. Their work is to spread the "Good News", which is about the Kingdom of God, and the blessings the Messianic King Christ Jesus will bring.

(Luke 8:1) Journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God

(Acts 10:36) Declare to them the good news of peace through Jesus Christ

True Christians are the ones who have asked Jesus into their heart, no matter what denomination.

You must look at the doctrine they teach and follow. Some are outright apostates and some have outright twisted the Gospel to run counter to what God has set down. Others you must be very careful because they are "wolves in sheep's clothing". Only God knows the heart. We who call ourselves Christians must be very careful about claiming to know someone's heart. However, people can be sincere, but sincerely wrong.

Yes. 'Tests' (plural) for 'Christians' exist partially related to the great rewards for true 'Christians' presently; especially in the USA. To my current knowledge; there are 7 deviations (the sect I was reared in). Other sects may have less presently.

Read the new Testament for yourself and decide who it is that God calls a Christian.

"And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ."
Romans 8:9b

"Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another."
I John 3:7-11

Denominations mean nothing to God. What matters is obedience to the Truth. God's word is Truth.

Good question, if you were sincerely trying to pick the right Christian religion, which one would you choose?

They all claim to be right

I say we let them go at it till the death. That way it's a fair choice, since obviously God will be with the side that wins.
