It is the Position of the Catholic Church that when others broke away from it that they left many core beliefs and therefore some are not true Churches. What do you expect the Church to say, would you think it would say that although they have left the Catholic Church, quit believing in all of the Sacraments, denied that Jesus started the Church, that we believe that anyone that starts up their own brand of religion is in perfect harmony with the will of God?

That does not mean that we believe that Christ is not present in their services, or in their lives. It also does NOT mean that Catholics believe that non-Catholics are not going to Heaven.

I will note that there have been some "News" reports that mis-represented his remarks.

Peace be with you!

No, because just about every religion teaches that they are the only true religion.

Catholicism is the only religion that contains the fullness of religious truth. Other religions also contain religious truth, but they only contain it partially.

The Pope said that Eastern Orthodox churches are also valid because, like Catholicism, they believe in the sacraments (especially the Eucharist) and have valid priests and bishops.

Protestant communities are not true churches, though, because they reject the sacrament and do not have a valid apostolic succession of bishops.

Despite that, they are still (to some extent) in communion with Catholicism through their baptism and their faith in Christ -- even if that communion is far from perfect, it's still there to a partial extent.

Therefore, it's not true (as some seem to be saying) that the Pope declared that only Catholics can go to heaven. Others can go there too -- by virtue of their communion (despite its imperfect status) with the Catholic faith.

No more that science declaring that 2+2=4 and any other answer is not a true answer.

If there is a God (and there is) then he has to have a real form. He can't be both one God, and a panteon of gods. He can't be both loving and disinterested in the world. He can't have created man, but not have created man.

So there has to be an ultimate "right religion". Any that vary from it has "wrong" to some degree.

Just as an answer for 2+2 that is not 4 is wrong.

Who cares what the pope thinks or any man for that reason. There is only one judge and all men will have to stand before Him and give an account for every idle word spoken. I've listened to this pope dilemma for the last 2 days on R&S. But when I'm not on this site, I never once give the pope one second of my day or thought because his words hold no substance, no truth whatsoever. So what do we do with falsehood? Attack it with the sword of the Spirit, God's Word.

The Catholic Church, Pope Benedict being the "leader" of that said Church, was instituted by God himself~ not a human man like all the subsequent "faiths". Therefore, the Catholic Church/faith is the one true religion.
Those churches, which followed, were instituted because the Catholic faith is rigid and has commandments to be followed. If a commandment disagreed with a person's way of life, then
START A NEW RELIGION.

I merely study the honestly statements given with the aid of the Pope of Rome. they do no longer proclaim that the Catholic Church is the only place wherein God supplies you persons salvation. He merely publicizes, and that i quote "... the Catholic Church has the fullness of the ability of salvation..." this does not say that salvation is to no longer be present day in different church homes. It merely says that different church homes lack the numerous ability of salvation. So defective may be a perfect term, depending on the way it is used. What i think of of this, properly, i think of the Pope is right. that's what the Catholic Church believes, and so help me, the Protestant church homes, and contributors of them, have not have been given any say in the situation. Neither do I, as an Orthodox Christian, have a good looking to dictate what the ideals of the Roman Catholic Church are. i'm able to stay with the actuality that they do no longer evaluate my Church to be the Church Christ began. The Orthodox particular carry an excellent stricter view than the Catholics in this difficulty. (in spite of the actuality that, we make no assertion on the subject of who honestly is saved or damned, yet proclaim, because of the fact the Catholics declare of their church, that "the fullness of the ability of salvation" exists in our Church. I hear it extra often reported in the Orthodox Church "fullness of God's Grace"). From my standpoint, it seems to me like Protestants are ecumenistic to the ingredient to sacrificing the actuality. In maximum Protestant church homes, i ought to have faith rather much something approximately Christ, see you later as I proclaimed Him to be the Son of God, being the two guy and God, and that he's my Savior, and be universal as Christian. What does this advise with regard to the the remainder of the stuff Christ taught? That this is not important? What approximately all the letters Paul wrote and the matters he addressed in them, have been they only for relaxing? a minimum of the Catholic Church takes a stance and does it decisively. i think of this sheds mild on the unfavourable aspects of the Protestant physique of concepts to cohesion. can we sell cohesion with the aid of sacrificing doctrine? If this maintains, can we be waiting to tell apart 'Christianity' from Taoism down the line? i think of Church maintenance of doctrine preserves cohesion, cohesion in theory, prayer, and theory. Disunity is created while doctrine is replaced.

no, but its not entirely true either, Orthodoxy and most non radical Protestants are also true religions no better or worse than Catholicism. Judaism is the best religion after Christianity followed by Islam, well thats what my beliefs are anyway.

As for radical protestants, they go a little too far!

Have you been living under a rock? All the judeo-christian systems of belief are prejudicial, as are some others (like the caste system in India, etc).

Yes and God says that Judgment will begin at the house of God, Pope. How will the Catholic church withstand their judgment? We have the Holy Spirit and we do not need a Pope. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, our Comforter and He will tell us what to say and what to do. Tell me Pope, why do we need you?

Yes, it is. But at the same time it is understandable from a marketing standpoint. After all, GM wouldn't advertise that Fords and Hondas are just a good as their cars, would they?
