Does that make christians claim to the one true church a lie? Or did Jesus already return as he stated he would 2000 years ago, or did he lie about that?

So if Jesus said he would claim his church, that would still lead me to believe that something must be wrong with it, if Jesus would have to come back and claim everything for himself again.
Anyway, when is he coming back? Isn't it about time for the second coming? What is he waiting for?

Read Matthew chapter 16:17-19. Jesus was talking to Peter and told him that upon the confession that Peter said He was thje son of God that He would build His church. When do we find that church being built? Read Acts the second chapter. This is the beginning of the Lord's Church. Jesus has not returned because when He does the world will no longer be standing. The church He built 2000 years ago still stands today. It is universal and is readily available to all who will obey God's plan of salvation. God adds the saved to the church the same way He did 2000 years ago. Hear, Believe Repent, Confess, and be Baptized for the remission of sins and you will also be added. That's the only way. Take advantage of His invitation while you have breath to do so.

What scripture are you basing that idea on?
Closest I can find is Matthew 16, Jesus only reference to the church by name in his teachings, where he said he would build his church on Peter's confession of Jesus' Lordship. I believe that happened about 2000 years ago in Matthew 16.

Jesus said He would CLAIM His church....and take us home.
The church has already been founded.....since the first century (Read Acts)
