I've heard this before and I want to see what people here think of it. The claim is that if a man lusts after a woman he is creating adultery in his heart. Some people take it a step farther claiming that the woman is sinning if she dressed provocatively. (This sounds dangerous to me, like the same line of thought that leads people to say that rape is a woman's fault.)

So is to woman to share the blame? What if she is addressed perfectly reasonably and the man still lusts? Is it her fault?

The woman has no control over the man's thoughts. You can't try to make someone else responsible for the perceptions of others.

No matter how I dress, the lust is in the beholder. I cannot make them lust after me any more than I can prevent them from doing so. I do not control other people.

Anyone who would claim that it's someone else's fault lacks personal responsibility.

Would it be my fault that I got robbed if I left a window open? Well, it would increase the chances of robbery, but I didn't do anything wrong. The person who stole is at fault, not the victim. (Even when the victim is criminally stupid.)

If the woman is dressed to incite lust, she is sinning.

But that does not mean that the man that is lusting after her is not sinning, he is.

Men should be able to contain their lust even with women that are not wearing much.

Women should dress modestly.

So, the woman is not responsible for the Mans sin just because of how she is dressed, but she is responsible for her own sin of improper dress.

If she is dressed reasonably, she has done nothing wrong.

Christians are not wanting to send squads of armed men out into the Clubs or beaches arresting women that wear a bikini, we are not going to bomb night clubs. You cannot force religion or morals on others, we will try to be good examples and we will argue against public nudity, ect when children are present.

But Men are responsible for their own sin.

Hope this helps!

Peace be with you!

Well, if the woman has dressed in such a manner to make men look at her, to bring a ttention to herself, knowing that she's going to be stared at and thought of in an unholy manner, then yes, you can blame the woman. If the woman on the other hand, dresses in a manner that would be pleasing to God and men still look at her, then no, it is not her fault. Some men are just sickos and think it is attractive for a woman to dress with clothing from her neck to her toes, that way there is more for them to imagine. Those are the men that need the Lord.

If the man looks at a woman who is simply pretty/ beautiful, then lusts for her, it is a sin. But if a man looks at a woman who is harlot looking, then both have sinned of lust. Thus, spiritually speaking, to a pretty woman of virtue like Virgin Mary, she is called VIRGIN of Jerusalem (BEAUTY) while a material woman (girl) with the virtue of Queen Jezebel the harlot queen of KIng Ahab and the queen of satan, she is called harlot woman of Babylon (SEXY) of sexual and lustful orientations. Additionally, the predominantly harlot oriented women worldwide today are even prophesied by Prophet John (Revelation 17:5) -the mother of harlots-queen of satan.

You know when I hear this from any faith I always wonder "Is then admitting men are inferior? I mean obviously if they were better then women nothing could 'tempt' them because they are 'stronger'." Then I wonder if that's a compliment. I mean we women are SO powerful that just looking at a man brings them to thier knees. I'm never sure whether to be insulted or flattered.

Well if a girl look sexy it certainly doesn't help. However, it is up to the man to discipline his own mind. Blaming someone else for your own weaknesses is no excuse.
