Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments."
Jesus said, "I didn't come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it."
Exodus 20:8-11
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work;
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy god: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, they manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Only the Jews and Seventh Day Adventist worship on Saturday the Sabbath from the very beginning of worship.

The Sabbath was a shadow of things to come. Paul states this:
Colossians 2
16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
The sabbathing is the life of faith that Christians live.

Sabath is a day we Christians call Saturday or the seventh day of the week. God rested after 6 days of work ending with mankind, now today mankind has had six days to create a world that we live in. It has been 6 thousand years since Adam and Eve started time and space. But a day in Heaven is as a thousand years; 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
So in the Old Testament there was a Law that Israel asked for to serve God by and the Sabath was only part of that Law.
But in the New Testament Jesus Christ toke the Law upon himself and we rest inside the protection of his blood and that Holy Spirit that came from inside of Jesus Christ. That Spirit comes into every believer and you find that Sabath every day of your life not in a day of the week; Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Christians don't observe Sabbath. They observe the Sun Day, an heritage of the Pagans.

Christ is our sabbath.
We enter into His rest by faith in His completed work on the cross.
"Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
"So I declared on oath in my anger,
'They shall never enter my rest.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience."
Hebrews 4:3,9-11
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Colossians 2:16-17

The Sabbath is when God rested. But if you mean Sunday, that is the day Jesus rose from death and appeared to people.
