There are very few diseases, viruses, bacteria, etc that can be transmitted from human to kitty.Don't worry about the babies, they'll be fine!

No. Only humans and MAYBE other primates catch the common cold. It is not contagious to any other animals besides those. My two dogs are both at my bedside when I am sick and they don't get a cold from humans. On Christmas day two years ago I had a cold and my Aunt Cheryl's cats didn't catch it at Christmas dinner; not even my relatives caught it because of me being so careful. Hope you get well soon. P.S: Very good desicion to neuter your kittens. A female cat(called a queen) can have 3 litters of kittens in one year! And it is best to spay/neuter kittens before they are sexually mature; cats are sexually mature around 6-9 months old depending on ancsestry.

The common cold that afflicts humans can be caused by any of literally thousands of viruses, but they won't infect your kittens. However, there are some microbes that can infect both cats and people -- chlamydia, for example. Look up "zoonotic diseases" on a search engine to learn more about the illnesses we can share with other species. But don't worry about giving a cold to your kitties -- it's extremely unlikely. You're a good and caring pet-owner to be concerned for them! Lucky kittens!

A dog isnt the same as a cat! I love cats and love finding out things about them. A cat cannot catch the common cold from a human.

Cats can get respiratory infections and they are especially prone when they are kittens. It's different from human colds though - caused by different viruses and bacteria - so they didn't give it to you or catch it from you. Your kittens may need antibiotics. Have the vet check them out and let you know when to reschedule neutering. It could be if you get them treated starting today, they may still be good to go on Tuesday. They often respond to treatment quickly if they are otherwise healthy.

No. Simple answer! Although some disease can be passed betweek human and livestock (BSE- CJD) and pet rats can catch colds from humans. But the evolutionary gap between you and your kittens is sufficient to stop that happening! So get well soon and have fun with the kittens :-)

It relies upon. some illnesses might nicely be transmitted back and forth from animals and people, some can not. An occasion of this could be the flu viruses. not all flu viruses are transmissable between species. Influenza B viruses are primary in basic terms to contaminate people and seals, yet Influenza A viruses, besides the indisputable fact that, like the H1N1 (swine) and H5N1 (avian) flu, can infect assorted species.

Hi hun,

No, don't worry, kittens cannot catch human colds. Kittens can get colds - but they are a different strand and type to the ones we humans get.

The strange thing though is that hamsters CAN catch human colds! Bizarre, eh?!

Don't worry, your kitties will be fine :-)

Probably not. I've been very sick before and my cat was fine. I don't think cats can catch human colds.

No, it's a different type of virus that gives cats a cold, so I wouldn't worry about it.
