My son is 2 ½ and I have been potty training him for the last few weeks, I have no complaints at home he goes on his own (except #2 but we will work on that later)! But for some reason at school he will not tell the teachers when he has to go to the bathroom he has at least 2 accidents a day which is not a problem for me because I don’t have to clean it up. I am just trying to find a helpful way that will get him to tell the teacher when he has to go, if the teachers just take him he goes but he won’t just go in his own. He goes to a good daycare it’s located in the federal building and I dont think that they would just hire anybody.

I would just ask them to put him on a schedule to go on a regular basis. Many day care programs do that anyway, but he may be too young for a whole class potty training work. You might ask if they would let you bring in a potty seat similar to the one you have at home. If he is used to a stand alone potty seat he may be afraid o fthe ones that flush. he also could just be having so much fun he doesnt want to stop to go potty.

Until he gets used to the idea, the teachers may have to ask him frequently if he has to go. I used to work at a daycare center when I was in high school in the toddler room, and about once an hour we would ask all the kids if they needed a potty break. It usually didn't take long for them to start being able to tell us when they had to go.

why the rush on potty training? kids give signs when they are ready. like not wetting their diaper at night and acknowledging they need to potty during the day, if he doesnt tell his teacher its because he is in a strange place and doesnt feel comfortable. i have 3 boys. a seven yr old who didnt fully potty train till he was almost 4 and i have twins that just turned 3 who have only been potty trained for a few weeks. and with all three of my boys i didnt push the issue if they wanted a diaper on i would put one on... finally they realize they dont like the wet feeling and will go to the potty more on their own. but good luck

maybe the teachers need to be taking all the kids alittle more often . I know when i had my son in daycare the teachers took them every hour especially if the little ones are just learning . maybe you should speak with the teachers . good luck .
