I don't think the protest is justified, US being a secular country respects all religions and faith. And in the present scenario when whole world is in a turmoil, we should show more tolerance and restraint with respect to other religion and faiths.
I don't know what punishment they deserve but me being a Hindu would definitely advice to forgive them, since according to Hindu beliefs forgiving is much greater than punishing someone.
The priest was there to pray for world peace, I have seen the whole video and there wasn't a word against any other religion or Christianity. He recited some ancient "shlokas" (or prayer which just says about world peace.

I'm not outraged that it was a Hindu priest and prayer, but I am appalled that they have prayers at all. What happened to separation of church and state? I found this info online:
For more than 200 years, the Senate has opened each workday with a prayer usually delivered by the Senate Chaplain, currently Barry Black, a Seventh Day Adventist. It is common, however, for senators to recommend religious leaders from their home states to serve as guest chaplains.
So, if it's normal practice to have the prayers, it's insulting to protest the Hindu prayer.

I don't think they were justified at all, and I hope they are convicted.
If atheist protesters were to shout down the Christian prayer in the Senate, the very same people who are defending these bozos would be screaming the loudest about the violation of their freedom of religion.

They should not be punished as everyone in this country has a freedom of speech; they can say pretty much whatever they want.
IF the Senate wanted to pursue it, which they probably won't, but if they did, probably the worst they would get is a contempt citation and wind up having to pay a fine just like a ticket.

The Constitution doesn't really work without God the Father and Creator and His Son Jesus Christ. No one questioned the fact that America was Christian until the 1960's and the sexual revolution along with Darwin's stupid monkey to ape chart came along. A few fallen angels hit America and worked the works of Satan. Haven't you ever heard - who God sets free is free indeed? Freedom comes from the Lord Jesus Christ and we are saved by the grace of our Lord.
Until the 1960's every diploma or degree had a graduation dateline reading "In the year of our Lord." Who do you think America was calling their Lord?
Evil says if you call a lie the truth long enough that all people will start believing the lie. AMERICA IS BEING DECEIVED.
The Senate of the USA cannot always be deceived. Even our Great Senate will not always tolerate everything. God Bless the United States Senate. Someone must turn this country away from evil.

It seems to me that the presence of the priest violates the separation of church and state anyway, so he shouldn't have been there.
