"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it...... The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus' pre-Earth life is described:

John 1:1-3,15
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The circumstantial proof indicates that he was Michael the Archangel.

The fact is that even the glorified Jesus is shown to have an Archangel's voice, which means that that is what he is - an archangel, the only one, Michael.

Christianity teaches that Christ existed as the eternal God, possessing all the characteristics of God. Remember, we believe in a Triune God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three persons, each unique and of unique nature, yet one God. It is a mystery, can't be understood, only believed. In time, this pre-existing Christ became incarnate and was born as a man. He relinquished many of His rights as God (read Philippians chapter 2 in the New Testament) including the right to live. He suffered and died, was raised from the dead. and ascended to heaven. He exists in a glorified Godly state without discarding His humanity. Again, hard to comprehend. This is why theology is a study of faith, not a science of proofs.

According to Philippians 2:5-11, he was already existing in the form of God. But there came a moment when he placed himself in a position of servanthood and became a human being. At that point, the name Jesus was given to him. Just as you probably existed for about nine months before your parents "officially" gave you your name.

Prior to that, he appears with many othe names including the name of YWHW, as well as God (Elohim), Lord (Adonia) and others.

Jesus bar Joseph is the name that the Son of God took when He was born to us on this planet. It is the name which He will be using when He returns to judge us. Before He came here, we do not know the name as that has not been revealed.

Jesus was Michael, the archangel, " The Creator of the Angles" goes on to say in the bible, "there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon"

I added two links to show you why i believe Jesus was Michael :)

He was still Jesus, but he was waiting with God in Heaven. Waiting to be sent to earth to fulfull his purpose. To many, Jesus does not just represent the physical man, but the spirit, the soul, the savior as a whole.
