i have got a job offer in dragon oil plc, lagos should i take job & if it is safe for 2 years contract. i want to inform nigerian consulate & will they be able to help me in tracing the company's where about & if the co is a valid co & is it worth going to lagos, nigeria Below i give the appointment letter mailed to me kindly help me •

Dear K.Suresh Babu,

PURSUANT TO THE RECENT NEGOTIATIONS, AND OUR SUBSEQUENT AGREEMENT ON OUR TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AS LISTED BELOW , DRAGON OIL PLC DOES HEREBY OFFICIALLY CONFIRMS YOUR APPOINTMENT AS A Auditor General IN OUR COMPANY.

1. PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT .

YOUR INITIAL PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE 2 YEARS AND SHALL COMMENCE ON THE DATE OF YOUR ARRIVAL IN NIGERA . EXTENSIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BEYOND THE INITIAL PERIOD MAY BE ARRANGED UNDER SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS MAY BE MUTUALLY AGREED UPON.

2. SALARY AND BENEFITS.

(a) YOUR SALARY SHALL BE 6,000$ (SIX THOUSAND US DOLLARS) PER MONTH TAX FREE. OR THE EQUIVALENT THEREOF IN LOCAL CURRENCY, AND SHALL COMMENCE UPON THE DATE OF YOUR ARRIVAL IN NIGERIA TO TAKE UP YOUR EMPLOYMENT WITH DRAGON OIL PLC.

(b) ROUND TRIP AIRFARE FROM YOUR HOME TO NIGERIA WILL BE PROVIDED FOR YOU AND YOUR DEPENDANTS BY THE COMPANY.

(c) YOU WILL BE GIVERN A ONE-TIME RELOCATION ALLOWANCE OF U.S.$5,000, DUE AND PAYABLE TO YOU UPON YOUR ARRIVAL IN NIGERA AS TO ENABLE YOU TAKE UP YOUR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE COMPANY.

(d) YOU WILL BE PAID A MONTHLY HOUSING ALLOWANCE. THE AMOUNT OF THIS ALLOWANCE WILL BE EQUIVALENT OF FOURTY PERCENT (40%) OF YOUR MONTHLY SALARY. AND WILL BE PAID TO YOU DURING YOUR RESIDENCE IN NIGERIA.

(e) YOU AND YOUR DEPENDANTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH ACCIDENT AND HOSPITALIATION INSURANCE, THE COST OF WHICH WILL BE FULLY BORNE BY THE COMPANY.

(f) YOU WILL BE GIVEN THIRTY (30) DAYS PER YEAR PAID HOME LEAVE, WHICH MAY BE TAKEN AT ANY TIME COMMENCING TWO (2) YEARS FROM THE DATE OF YOUR ARRIVAL IN NIGERIA TO TAKE UP YOUR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE COMPANY. ROUND TRIP FARE FROM NIGERA TO YOUR HOME WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOU AND YOUR DEPENDANTS AT THAT TIME.

Ignore it. It is a Nigerian scam. Take care, don't lose your money.

And what speciality skills and experiences do you have that would make you the ideal employee for this company?

Have you ever been an Auditor General in a Nigerian company? Are you an International CPA? What oil field experience do you have? How did they get your name?

Bottom line: SCAM!

Why do you people don't think before asking questions? Doesn't it ring a bell? Do some research, scams can be found anywhere.

Be more careful and don't pay anything. As far as I've heard no decent employer asks you money: they pay you money instead :))

Its a S P A M don't believe in such emails.
I get atleast three daily, I mark them spam without reading.

If it says nigeria and they ask you for money run for the hills as it is a scam.

For God's sake, it's a SCAM. They are going to ask you to send them $1,800 for "processing" your visa. Once you send the money you'll never hear from them again.
