I need to go on a special diet for a few days, but this diet has 108g of fiber a day. What should I do, drink or eat to help me digest this diet without the food clogging in my intestines ?

Thanks

Fiber is not actually broken down to be digested (nutrients absorbed by your blood stream). Fiber is considered bulk, and more like an intestinal scrub brush, so it goes through your system and comes out the other end.

If you are taking in that much fiber, it is wise to drink plenty of water so the fiber can do its job. I would drink at least 10, 8oz glasses of water these next few days to make sure that everything is moving through your system.

Body movement also helps (unless you are physically restricted to do so or your doctor has restricted you). I recommend you excercise (swimming is fantastic) to keep food moving efficiently through your system.

Is adding fiber to your diet a new thing? how much water are you drinking? Most people that have not been eating regular fiber, then start introducting it inot your daily food intake will get gas. Some don't. I eat anywhere from 35-60 grams aday, but my body is pretty used to eat and I drink at least 15 glasses of water during the day. If the gas persists try taking BEANO or something like that to help you with the gassiness. The benefits of FIBER certainly out weigh the problems with the GAS!

Fibersure, from the makers of Metamucil, is a clear-mixing fiber powder that you can stir, cook, and bake into everyday foods.

You can also mix it into a glass of water and drink it, it has no flavour so it won't change the taste of the water and its also texture free so it won't thicken the water.
their website below has more info, you should take a look at it

I think your biggest problem is going to be splintors.

Eating that much fiber a day, there should be twigs and branches coming out of your B*tt

Your biggest problem is going to be, where to fine an an*l weed wacker.

You should be able to burn your droppings.

If i were you i would save the, The holidays are just around the corner, Yule Logs are expensive and your logs are free.

Just make sure you have enough intake of fluids, at least 2 liters a day. And relax. Our digestive system works best when we are not stressed.

Fibre is not digested - that's the point of the stuff - It helps your insides by sort of cleaning them out. What goes in, will come out.
