I have a 6-in-1 memory card reader and my current camera takes a regular SD memory card which I have and is 1gb. its got 4 slots in it for various sizes. I'm buying a new camera tomorrow, the sony dsc h7 and from what I've seen so far it says it will only take a memory *stick*. now, do I have to buy a memory STICK and and stick-reader, or can my current card-reader read the memory stick?

Your stick reader should tell you if it has a memory stick slot. The memory stick has been around for awhile so it probably does meaning you wouldn't need to buy another.

My computer takes a Sony memory stick in the same slot as an SD card.
You can try that too if there is no separate slot for memory sticks, it seems to work on several readers I have seen.

The camera will read the card, and you can hook the camera up via the provided USB cable. No need to buy anything or use the card reader at all!
