I have sold and purchased several things on ebay and have always been very fortunate with everyone I have dealt with. Recently two items I sold were paid for quickly and I left possitive feedback and always post items the day they sell or the following morning so received items in good time. When I did not get feedback I emailed to check all was ok.
One person has acknowledged receipt of the item and indicated they are pleased with it via e-mail explaining they had been away, yet still she has not left any feedback!?
The other person has not responded atall.
Neither seem to regularly use ebay but both have left feedback for people in the past.
Its frustrating when people just dont bother - has anyone else had this problem? Maybe I should wait until I get feedback before leaving it for others but I'm happy to let people know I acknowledge and appreciate their efforts.

If you were not happy with the postage someone is asking, why would you buy the item unless you got it for a reasonable overall total price? Clearly you got item for price you were happy with so why not say thankyou. Lots of people have low start price but make sure they get a few pence through postage, you can tell that before you even bid so its irrelevant no-one makes you bid. Manners cost nothing & not leaving feedback is a reflection of your lack of goodwill as an ebayer, people can see if someone regularly doesnt bother. Its a shame you cannot see that bad manners is ignorant & you even seem proud to be so.

The funny thing about eBay is some people really take it seriously and do leave feedback promptly. Some people just don't care enough to bother.
I generally don't give feedback until it is left for me when I am the seller, if I am the buyer I leave it right away becaue I expect the seller to be waiting for me to leave it before they leave mine.

I've never sold on ebay, but buy frequently. I post my feedback the same day I get my items if I am pleased. Just twice, I felt that I didn't get what paid for and I left no feedback. I feel saying nothing is better that leaving negative feedback

It is a lack of empathy which stops people from leaving feedback on ebay - I always do it. If you put a wee message on a compliments slip saying please leave me feedback, it might stir people into action. You could also say you are only selling to people with a certain level of feedback already. That way you know the buyer is more likely to leave feedback. They have a track record of doing so and willl hopefully continue in the same manner with you.

Forgetfullnes, Interruptions, etc. I am very guilty and always try to remember, but sometimes they pop up on my (need to leave feedback screen) and I forgot someone a month ago. I also had an emergency stay in the hospital at one time. I would never be offended if the seller e-mailed me that I had forgotten feedback. The only time I have refused to leave feedback is if there was a problem. I wouldn't want them leaving bad feedback on me, so I prefer not to leave it on them.

I agree, i have recently sold my first two items on eBay and not received feedback for either. I even emailed the buyers, enquiring as to whether they got their items OK and if they were satisfied, but they never replied.
When i buy items i leave feedback on the same day i receive the item, i feel it is common courtesy.

I too have experienced this on E-Bay, not very often but it is annoying when people do not leave feedback for you especially when you have left it for them and everything went alright with the transaction. For me this is an important part of buying and selling on ebay and i always leave feedback for the other person.

I do not no why in your case, I nearly always leave feedback and think it is manners to do so.
However I didn't recently because I did not receive good service while I did not want to leave neg feedback I didn't want to say I had good service when I did not. Plus I also know If I left neg feedback then they would leave neg for me, even tho I was not in the wrong.

It's human nature and the same with many different things, people are more likely to criticise than compliment.
There a saying along the lines of, if you have a good experience you will tell one person, if you have a bad experience you will tell ten. I think that general rule applies.

Because some people just want to buy something- its no big deal. Its just an online shop- its not everyone's life and be all and all- they have many more important things to do. Sometimes i am happy with something i buy from ebay and i leave feedback and sometimes i don't. Recently i bought something and the postage was way, way over the top- rather than leave her negative feedback i never left any. Life is too short to be worrying about such trivialites.
