Under certain circumstances we can "explain away" certain dependencies. I am looking for the complete form and not one without a phi or theta dependence. Also, can this be represented as a series?

To get the complete forms you'll get heavily into the mathematics, and from your request, it seems that you are more concerned with EM applications.
Therefore, try "Green's Functions with Applications" by Dean Duffy. Chapter 4 may not be very helpful (deals with the heat equation), but chapters 3 and 5 should answer nicely.

Best place to find a really good source for leaning all about greens functions is the book "Green's Functions for scientists and Engineers" by Greenberg.

Try "Classical Electrodynamics" by J.D. Jackson (2nd or 3rd edition), Wiley
