I have an arrangement with my boss that I can do a 5 day week in 4 days and gets Fridays off. But i was short a few hrs this week so I came in this morning by choice to make up the missing time. I was not asked I just did it out of principle even though he probably would not even know.

You're a boss's dream come true! I wouldn't have gone in at all. Leave when you're finished. What a great work ethic you have, more should be like you!

Check with your company's overtime policy with your HR Rep.

It's good to do this before coming in on your day off - or you may have just "volunteered" your time.

In my opinion, nothing wrong about it. Unless, you are going to get paid for going to work on your day off then it would be wrong. Best is as for another day off.

Was it your choice to come in? If so--I would think you could leave at noon or whatever.

If they asked you to come in--you probably need to stick out the day.

Bummer!

Leave when you have made up your hours. No one should expect you to stay all day.
