Immoral thoughts or the temptation is not sin but repeated immoral thoughts precede immoral actions. But God has given the born again believer power by His Holy Spirit over such thoughts. However, the believer must meditate in Gods word and fill his/her heart with Gods purpose for their lives. It doesn't mean the thoughts will not come but it does mean that the Christian would have power over it not to act upon it.

Think of an addict. What makes them an addict? They feed their addiction. They say they want to quit, but as soon as that urge strikes they are back at it, making their demon grow bigger. Lust is a sin. Having the passing thought is not so much the sin as when you acknowledge it and let it take root in your heart. Then it is sin and you must flee from it. There is no such thing as a harmless sin or a little one because sin snowballs and becomes bigger sins that will destroy your life. The Bible teaches us that temptations can be stopped by saying no, pray to the Lord, and walk away. We play a very big part in our victory over sin. And that victory will come only through obedience to God.

Thoughts or temptations are not sin. Sin is an action. Sin is also the state that we are in until we accept Jesus' redeeming blood (death) for our salvation.
I suggest that you pray and realize what real love is as stated by God in 1 Corinthians 13.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. GOD
Lust and love are different however, it is human nature to desire someone that you have decided to love. Waiting for marriage to consummate the union is what God has told us to do.

it's like this....what if you were on a diet and couldn't eat chocolate? would you make a point of thinking about chocolate all the time, 24/7, or would you try really hard to not think about it at all? you would try not to think about it. because the more you think, the more you are tempted to eat chocolate, and eventually you will give in. same with single christians and lust and sex and desire and all that stuff. it's not a sin to have it cross your mind; its a sin to dwell on it intentionally. you have the power to say no to those thoughts.

Temptation is NOT sin. God will never allow someone to be tempted more than he/she can bear.
James 1:14-15: "Each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."
Desire, conceived, can turn into sin (see above) - the sin is "lust".
Today, we can thank God that Jesus faced temptation and remained without sin. So we may rely on His death on our behalf to bring us back to God's grace when we sin. "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin." (Hebrews 4:15)

The Bible says in case you're saying you have not any sin, you're making God a liar. all of us sin many situations. the component is that Jesus paid the fee for our sins, and we are forgiven. Being a believer ability believing. movements follow ideals, so the extra you believe Jesus, the less you will fall into temptation and sin. Yours in Christ, Nick

According to Christianity, the mind must be clean to ensure the cleanliness of the body.
Proverbs 6:25
"Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes..."
Job 31:1
"I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl."
etc.
It may be difficult for you to stop, but it is possible if it truly is your desire.
This is just the Christian viewpoint, of course...

Yea that is a tough one. We've all been there.
It's okay though the Lord understood these things
so he gave us 1John 1:9 and some days that is what
we have to keep doing all the live long day... but we can
pray for the lustfull desire to be taken away also everyday
until the Lord sees you have been faithful in wanting it lifted
and you pass that test. It's a tough one though..... for most of us.

The basic criteriai for sin is intention. You have to WANT to do whatever it is.
You cannot control your thoughts. So your thoughts become sinful
after you recognize that you are thinking them and that they are sinful, and how you react.
If you try to avoid them, to resist them, to get rid of them - not sinful, even if they keep coming back.
But if you recognize that they are sinful and then continue to engage in them and enjoy them - yup, that's sinful.

my friends and i (all extremely religious but we know how to have fun) decided that if the thought crosses your mind its not your fault but its when you dwell on it it becomes a problem. if you are laying in bed and you think, wow, he is amazing. i just want to lay with him....bleh blah blah... stop there. yes- the thought willl cross your mind. god made man for woman and woman for man, but dont dwell on it. dont continue to ask yourself questions about what if this or id like it if that. stop right there and ask god to help you to stop. try to think of something else. or- sounds gross- but think of your dad. i am 99.9% sure those dirty thoughts will leave your head.
