Most of the stupid **** I hear sounds like they're using the Southpark episode as a reference. Or they're talking about re-orgies (the one's who practice polygamy and mary pre-teens etc..) The LDS church isn't affiliated with any of that so wtf? o_O

Also, if you've got something to say I want references. As in a tangible url backing up what you're saying. Otherwise, it's heresay, which you can put back into whatever *** you pulled it from.

The problem with yahoo answers is stupid ****'s like eckzl. I've got a sense of humor, but I wasn't asking this question in the comical sense. Maybe you should read "details". You know. Those "words" underneath the question.
I'm not even mormon, I'm just wondering what's up with all the misinformation going around. I get the same way when I hear some stupid **** say there's strychnine in acid, or if you do mushrooms so many times you're declared legally insane. I can't stand parrots who don't know how to think for themselves.

The belief that John the Revelator never died and is still on earth alive for the last 2000 years is enough for me, I don't need to go beyond traditional LDS belief to find the improbable.

But I am the same with all religious belief. It is all based on the improbable, and unprovable.

For one thing, most of the trashy documentaries on the LDS Mormon religion are based on members that have been ex-communicated from the church. A lot of their comments were made out of spite. I watched a recent show and it was all lies. These people crying and saying they loved the church but were kicked out and didn't understand why. Boloney! The guy on the mountain with all the wives. The other guy that has 3 wives, and the ex-member who wanted women to hold the priesthood. All ex-communicated. The church is very strict on those amongst other things. Do you know that our young missionaries live off of very little money, but they are very happy and will help you with even the tedious of jobs. Member will invite them to homemade dinners at times OUr family had some over for Easter and they joined in the family traditions just like they would at their own home. Wouldn't you want that for your child if he or she was away from home? Now how can you even comment on the Mormon people if you have not even ever attended one meeting? What if you had a very close relative pass away before being baptized? The bible says you have to be baptized to enter the kingdom of heaven. Here, the opportunity is available, but to do this, you must live by the commandments of God. This can be difficult for even members. Now does that sound like bad people to you?

Last time I checked , we were at war with the Taliban. Why should we let one of their cousins inti the White House?

This one happened 150 years ago but I think its still relevant because Mitt Romneys Mormon church pardoned a terrorist mass murderer of Americans and protected the 100 or so other Mormons involved from federal prosecution!

It was September 11, 1857. A wagon train of 160 settlers on their way to California was massacred by a bunch of Mormons dressed in Indian clothes. 17 children under the age of 8 were spared and lived to tell their story.
1st. They dressed as Indians but after five days they changed tactics.
2nd. Then they went a bit away ,dressed back into normal clothes and acted like the Rescue Party who had negotiated a deal with the"Indians".
3rd, Then confiscated all the guns as part of the deal for "saving" the travellers and Mormon dissidents( who were the reason for the attack in the first place).
4th. Took everybody off a mile or so and shot them all. 2 men got away but were eventually tracked down and killed a day or so later.
5th. Took the 17 children they had not killed back with them to Salt Lake City.
6th. Got away with it. After a publicized trial, with the childrens own testimony admitted into the court, only 1 man was convicted and shot, John D. Lee. ( pardoned by Church 1960)

It ended up being called the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The first time in U.S. history that U.S. citizens were massacred on U.S. soil by religious wackos. This event is even more significant because the total U.S. population at the time was much smaller.(I dont know the exact numbers, maybe only 30 million or so) In todays numbers it would be around 1400 dead

The LDS Church teaches doctrine consistent with the Bible. The Bible can be interpreted many, many, and many different ways. The doctrine of the LDS Church is most consistent with how I feel Christ's Church should be followed. Therefore, I am a practicing member.

People ripping on a different christian denomination?
Now that would be something new in the R&S section.

One guess, though: the LDS church is a fast growing christian denomination and it might be one of the reasons why it is targeted.

I am an atheist, but I won't rip on the LDS faith. Especially since Napoleon Dynamite.
Jon Heder rocks.

Whats with the holy underwear? Also Brigham Youngs polygamy while in leadership along with the massacre of a band of innocent white traveling pioneers. What is up with that whole thing? The leaders of the church have been "shady" from the beginning and keep changing the rules to suit the day.

Actually I think South Park did a pretty good job exposing Mormonism. In fact, if it were not for it being a cartoon and using the same style of language you are accustomed to, I think it could show on History Channel.

My childhood for one, most of it mormons refuse to believe, I was a mormon in a preisthood holders home yet, a lot of crap was going on, both parents were mentally ill and no one in my ward seemd to want to get help for them, my mom constantly complained about my violent brother, yet no hep for him could be found, I would complain to my dad about demons in my room, yet he would tell me I was imagining things (i was stuck with a nightlight until I was 13, they don't show up if there is light in the room...
john 3:20
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

Acts 26:18

My mom flirting with my mormon boyfriends, my dad and mom abusing me, almost dying three times as if...satan were actually after me (one of them being a copycat serial killer who thought he was richard rameriz), having to dress like a punk rocker so my dad wouldn't be sexually attracted to me anymore, I mean I could go on about how my mom made me her cinderella ect I just couldn't take it anymore, if this is what being a mormon was...FORGET IT!!!
