Slave name? Because Ali was a slave? You know that was ended after the Civil War, right? Cassius Clay was his real birth name, he was named after his father who was a abolitionist for christ sake. The name Clay did come from a white politician, but that politian was against slavery. And that shouldn't even matter. You should respect your own father before anything else. He decided to do that conversion to Muslim bullsh*t. Ali, while a great boxer, was an a$$. He threw his own heritage and name in the water for some idealogic BS, his father gave him that name not some plantation owner.
