You have to be 100% certain you want to do this sweetheart but don't live your life with "what ifs", you will never be certain of everything in your life, life has to be lived with the knowledge that it not always going to pan out the way you want it too, I genuinely hope it does darling I really do, just take each day as it comes and do the things you really want to do, live your life to the full, never have regrets and things don't always go to plan what the hell, pick yourself up, brush yourself off and say fcuk it and move on

After nine months it seems like a perfectly normal and reasonable request. Even if you marry him there is no guarantee that the marriage will last forever and he will be the only man for you.
Having said that I would do what I think is right and what I am comfortable with.

Let me guess...he used the phrase "making love". Please. I guess he's sick of waiting to get to his ultimate goal of the whole relationship. You are right on about breaking up if you do this. Hold out a while longer and get some kind of commitment from him--not just a verbal one.
