I want to go away for the weekend, but don't want to be stuck on a campsite. I'm looking for a good, quiet pitch, preferably not too far from a decent place to park (don't wanna carry the beer too far...) close to water, no fire restrictions, 4-6 people, 2-3 tents. HELP!

I actually work in a camping and outdoors store, so the last time I pitched a tent was a couple of months ago. We had to put a 6 man tent on display upstairs. It was quite large, so a couple of coworkers helped in getting it up. If I wasn't taking this question literally, this would sound so wrong... (((Cassie)))

Due to the 'Right to Roam' laws here, you can legally pitch on any common (i.e. not privately owned) land for a total of three days before being asked to move on. And this being Scotland, there are plenty of small streams around.

I think you would need permission from who owns the area you want to park in, Loch Lomond is nice but take your brolly.
