OK so I'm just curious would you prefer it if your gf came onto you a lot or you instigated things and stuff? Because I'd rather wait for my bf to ask for what he wants but I don't want him to think I'm not interested, although I also don't want him to think I'm too forward and easy.

Its 2007 and if you want to make the first move and it feels comfortable then you do what feels right for you your BF will soon tell you if he doesn't like it just like you would tell him.

Moderation is the key to almost everything. You should do it some. He should do it some. That said, consider this: your boyfriend is more likely to be ready to go at any given moment. You are more likely to only want to get it on at certain times. Simply math indicates that because of this you're more likely to turn him down at any given moment. So practically, it is usually best for the woman to instigate things. Of course, that is a generalization, and may not apply to a minority of couples where the woman is turned on more than the guy.

There is a happy medium you need to reach between the two of you. Sometimes its a turn on for a girl to start thing up. It is never fun always having to do it. You should feel comfortable to take things in your own hand from time to time. Just not all the time I mean you want him to start it sometimes to. Try it o few times and see how it goes. If you are comfortable, you could talk to him about this, that way he will know that just because you don't start it does not mean you do not want it.

It's a balance, don't be a doormat, don't be a floozy, a lot of men do like their girl to take the initiative occasionally, they also like to feel wanted and desired.

I used to have to pull it out of my gf of what she wanted and she still wouldn't say it just moan and groan to get me to do it and got angry if I refused until she vocalized it. Say she didn't want me to think poorly about her. I never did. I just wanted her not to be shy and tell me what she wanted.

It goes both ways. Some days you should initiate and some days he should. Don't worry about it though.

Just be yourself... dont worry about that so much. You can show interest without throwing yourself on top of him.
