Did the dog break the skin? If so you need to have the wound looked at and possibly take shots to prevent rabies. The shots aren't as bad as they used to be. But you need to get the bite looked at. Call your county health department. They can tell you where you can go to be seen without insurance.
Report it to the police. They will quarantine the dog until they can either get the record of the dog's rabies vaccinations or, if the dog hasn't been vaccinated, test it for rabies.
Good luck!

You should go get it checked out by the health department, clinic, even the local emergency room wouldn't turn you away for no insurance. Chances are you need a tetanus shot. I dont know what the signs of rabies are, but type in " symptoms of rabies in humans" on the web, and it will tell you what you need to know,...good luck to you

Steve: get to a doctor. You maybe in serious danger. Yes Rabies could be one problem. Tetanus is another consideration. How much tissue damage was there? Don't wait! Signs of infection are: swelling, redness, hot sensation at the site, fever, increased pain, pus from the area. Get moving, see the doc.

you should see a doctor for tetanus shots and also one for the rabies... also keep an eye on the dog for about two weeks (14days) if there is any changes it probably has rabies.. oh and do clean the wound with soap and water and put antiseptic on it
for the symptoms
restlessness, fever, malaise, fever, numbness around the bite
more serious symptoms are difficulty in swallowing, sensitivity to light (photophobia)
