Dreams are of various types
1- dreams which are due to the arrangement of our thoughts, memories and actions, indexing them or deleting them... these type of dreams are weird, meaningless and logicless
2-Dreams which arise due to hidden desires or fears...that may mean meeting with your loved one, who has departed or drinking water (if u slept thirsty) or urinating(if pressure on bladder is too much)...these dreams have no meaning and the other person whom u meet in dream will not see yr dream...nor will your astral body actually go to him/her.
3- Future showing dreams. These dreams come from our higher self...and normally are seen in the early morning... you will remember this dreams as they are very vivid
4- Some times you enter into lucid dreaming ...and which turns into OBE...and your astral body reaches your god, or beloved or friend. In such case that friend will see you in his dream, because your astral body will affect his dream. These are very rare dreams, and normally happen to those who are in deep love with someone, or those who have advanced on the spiritual path.

Dreams are a way to process and get rid of stress while we rest. After enlightenment there are no more dreams.
There a a few types - those that are releasing stressful experiences you've had, those that are of future events, those that arise due to the place you are in, and those that express a mixture or all.
Don't pay attention to them. If you want reality, get a mantra from an enlightened one and start meditating.

Yes, they meet. It is the same as in physical body except that the things happen with the astral body in stead of the physical body.
