Im dating this guy and he doesn't want to tell people, ie, his friends that we're going out. When asked why, he said that he doesn't want the news to spread. Why would he do/say that?

He is probably either ashamed of you, or he plans on seeing other people on the side. I would tell him that if you are good enough to be his girlfriend, then you are good enough for everyone to know about it. Tell him if he is so ashamed, why is he with you in the first place. What he is doing is very very very disrespectful to you. Don't let him treat you like that. Tell him to hit the road. Get out there and find you a guy that will be proud to have you as his girlfriend. You deserve much better than this jerk!!!

I'm the same, and I'm a girl! A lot of guys are, not ashamed, per se, but a little embarassed on the subject, unless their partner is someone who has more than one "secret admirer". Their friends can use who the guy likes as judgment on the guy's taste. At least that's what I think.

He either isn't sure of the relationship yet, or he just doesn't want to be teased by his friends. Be a little careful in this relationship. I hope you're not having sex yet. That could be another reason he doesn't want to introduce you. Maybe he's not that into you. Good luck. If he doesn't introduce you soon, find another guy.

Getting girls is expected of young men these days. If I were in his shoes and wanted to keep our relationship to ourselves, it would be because I wouldn't want the excitement and congratulations of my friends/family for FINALLY getting a girl in my life. It's just embarassing, in a way that may not make sense to you or anyone ELSE reading this. :P "OKAY! I've got a girl!", I say in exasperation, "Do you need to address it like I flew to the freakin' moon on a moped?"

Two reasons 1.He's cheating on you and doesn't want the other girl to hear the news. Or 2. He is embarassed of you.

That's because if they tell there friends, they get embarrassed. And he thinks his friends might think they'll make in front of him.

He is cheating you with someone or he is dating his friends 's relatives. He may be ashamed of you but why? I don't think he loves you or he is consoling himself with you.
