For the past 6 or so months I've had terrible headaches, including times when I break down crying in front of anyone because of the pain. It's gotten to where if I have a headache, no matter the cause, I cant stand bright lights and if I see even the sun it kills me. Mostly the pain is in my forehead, top of the back of my head, and around my neck area. It gets very hard sometimes to cope with these headaches because they've been going on for not too long, and I'm not used to much pain at all. I've even gotten to where I wont go out with friends sometimes because I dont want to risk getting a headache and having to leave in the middle of everything. I've always had throat problems (sore throat, strep, sinus, ect) but it's only been recently that I've had these headache problems. I've tried all kinds of medicine, painkillers and whatnot, but none seem to work longer than 30 minutes. Is it possible I have chronic daily headaches, or is it something else?

Thanks so much for the help.:)

Yes it is possible and it is likely a migraine. You need to go back to see your GP and they will be able to give you something else to alleviate this. Sometimes it's really an issue of trial and error!

Going to your GP won't solve the problem though - it could be a physical problem... which they can check out... but it could also be stress, hormones, your eyesight, etc. So once your GP rules out anything, you may want to take a look at your lifestyle and see what else could be contributing.

But the main thing is to get the pain to stop - then worry about the cause!

I have been there and the first time it ended up I was pregnant and the second because I needed glasses.

Good luck :) Hope you are feeling better soon!

I don't know if you've seen a doctor about this, but pain is the bodies way of saying, "Hey. Something's wrong!" It is in no way normal to have headaches with the pain and frequency that you're having them. I get my migraines about once or twice a year, but I get cluster headaches that are brought on by a killer disease called vasculitis, which involves some of the blood vessels in the brain. When I get these cluster headaches, I go in for an intramuscular shot of Toradol which treats the problem. But the vasculitis was thankfully found on Memorial Day after having a headache going into my second day followed by a purple discoloration on the right side of my head. The purple discoloration notwithstanding, had I not gone in for my headache, the vasculitis might not have been diagnosed and I may have been dead from a stroke by now, which is probably how I'll die from the vasculitis. But I'm in remission now all because I went in for a headache and got a proper diagnosis.

As far as temporary pain control goes, I would ask for a prescription of Oxyxodone 5 mg. and take them under the tongue. It will go into the brain much faster that way and I take 70 milligrams a day of Percocet/Oxycodone a day. You can also wear a 25 mg. Fentanyl patch as well that might help you with pain control. I wish you the best and I hope you feel better.

if you suspect it is related to sinus headache, try otrivin nasal spray, it really works quickly and halts the headaches. I have tried tylenol and ibuprofen for chronic debilitating headaches and they just come back but the otrivin nasal spray works like a charm. You really ought to check in with your doctor however but try the spray. The spray seems to instantly open up something in the nose that is closed and causing pain.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Your problem is due to excess of liver fire.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.

This sounds a lot like migraines. I would recommend getting in touch with your dr to see what they think. If they do suspect migraines asked to be sent to a dr that specializes in the treatment of migraines to help you find the treatment that works best for these headaches.
