I offer you this much for your quandry;
Is it impossible for a man to love as a Father and love as a son? upon that same concept add it times infinity and only then shall you barely Grasp the ideal of the "GOD HEAD",
How many of us have hidden something in our house only to have hidden it so well that we cant find it anymore ?
If you were a Doctor or a police officer, though you were human you would have to follow the Hipocratic Oath or the Policy and Procedures of the Law, if a man can be one thing and yet while in uniform behave a certain way, he is not acting by his will but by the will of that which governs him if all these simple points of view are true, then why do you even hope to question that the lord our GOD can't have through time and space , demensions unfolded, for the salvation of Man's eaternal soul, He sent himself, yet retained himself to be our redeemer, why is it so hard to understand that flesh can do alot to the soul? if it can do as much to us, surely some of the rules of this demension played itself out on the lord Jesus CHRIST, so before you allow your intellect to take you further from the very thing that will bring you closer, which is faith,
simply muse yourself over this strange phrase and smile, ever heard men say of themselves, MIND BODY AND SOUL? if this can be true of a man, give GOD a bit more credit that he could be Three things at once as well :)

That's a lot of questions.

1. No, Christians are not polytheists.
2. We believe that God has different...aspects. Like a man can be a father, a son, and a brother, or water can be liquid, ice or vapor.
3. Those of us who believe that Jesus IS God believe that the reason He was able to pray to God (even though He's on an equal footing) is because they were separate. The essence of God was placed in human form. And Jesus makes many claims that He was God, but He doesn't come right out and say it.
4. That was Jesus's human part speaking. He was both fully human, and fully God.
5. When Jesus was in human form, His knowledge was limited. When He went to join God again, I'm sure He was able to know when the end times would come.

I hope this helps. Not all Christians believe that Jesus is God. The jury is still out on this one for me. I have my doubts.

Ok It is late at night as I answer this. If you would like a deeper answer please contact me. It is a complex concept that there is one God but 3 personages of God. Let me start with this question Is there anything God can not do? If you have read the old testament or the Torah you will find that Abraham is arguing with one of 3 men and yet one of them speaks for God. He does not say God told me to tell you . It states the Lord said..... How can this be? To a Christian this is a Christophany or a sighting of Jesus before His time on earth. Now the other part is the Holy Spirit or comforter( similar to the Jewish idea of the Shekina) Now all 3 (including God the father) are part of one God equal but seperate Some say He is 3 who and 1 what. I am very tired and not feeling well at the moment but would be more than willing to try to explain this Christian concept to you later if you are interested. It is ok to have difficulty with itMany Christians have difficulty with the concept Almost every Jew doesn't get it. And let's be truthful here we are trying to define He who is undefinable. He is beyond or small minds to completely grasp because He is so great and magnificent.

If you are trying to explain God in human perspective then you'll just go down with nothing but confusion.

Humans doesn't have the brain capacity to put God in human understanding.

Just look at the world. We are just in a 3 dimentional world. But God is bound beyond this world. He is beyond our space-time. How can we explain something that we haven't encountered or experienced. Humans can only learn from what he experience.

No, we are not, G-d forbid worship of any others before Him.

Now let me ask you this: Can water be in three forms and still be called water? The answer is yes; Ice, vapor, and liquid water. Yet it is all still water. So, this is the way that G-d is able to divide Himself; when He Wills to do so. And by you saying He is completely three separate persons. You are in fact, questioning His Divinity and Abilities.

While here on this planet, Jesus the Christ was full human and full G-d. But there were times when He knew to use each of these parts of His personality. He prayed to G-d in order to show us that we go to G-d in prayer; which is really a form of communication. To show us that prayer or speaking to G-d CAN be done anytime of the day or night. And during good or bad times, in our life. NOT JUST on certain days, certain times, in a specific place, or a specific direction that we face.

Again when Jesus the Christ said "not my will be thine be done", He was teaching us that when we pray it is not meant to be a 'demand' for any certain action or response; but for His Will to be accomplished in our life.

When Jesus the Christ said "why have you forsaken me", that is because, in order for anyone to have forgiveness of their sins. There has to be a pure and spotless sacrifice. That is what Jesus the Christ came into the world to be, our pure and spotless sacrifice. To reconcile us to G-d and grant the free gift of forgiveness. Because, without forgiveness of sins, we can't expect to come near to G-d or have a relationship with Him.

So, when Jesus the Christ, had to experience the feeling of physically having the SINS of the ENTIRE world. He took all sins of everyone who was, is, and will be alive on this planet; from the beginning of time until the end. That is why He is called The Lamb of G-d.

If this had been you, wouldn't you at that every moment feel forsaken or betrayed? I know I would.

As for the prayer that He taught to us, through His Disciples. This was in an effort to show us that prayer is actually a private form of communication between us and Our Heavenly Father (G-d). He does not really care what direction we pray toward, if we sit / stand, if we bow / or not, or the time of day. We CAN go to Him in this communication form, just like we would one of our best friends - anytime - when we feel lonely, hurt, in need, or want something. We can talk to Him about anything and everything in our life. That is why the Bible says "We can caste our burdens on Him."

Again, because Jesus the Christ had His human side of the personality that He brought with Him to this Earth. He kept some of the things that are to be revealed at a later day hidden in Heaven.

And finally, to show you that He is and can be All One G-d. I will refer back to the water. Water can be liquid and in this state of being can go everywhere - this is the state of G-d the Father. He is our Living Water- through the Christ Jesus. Water can also be in a solid state or form, this is Jesus the Christ. He is the physcial form of G-d, who came down to show us that 'gods' are not unapproachable or unattainable in our life. Since He is the Heavenly Father, He desired for us to be able to come into His presence and be reconciled to Him; as His loved Children and members of His Kingdom. Water in its final form or vapor, is the Holy Spirit of G-d. This is the way He is able to come into our bodies and speak to us. Some call it our conscious or the still small voice. We all have this, whether we want to believe it our not. It is that part of G-d that some call the little feeling of guilt when we do wrong. The Holy Spirit enables us to feel remorse and helps us to forgive others.

Anyone who says or implies that G-d is not able to do such a thing, in His eyes is commiting Idolatry. That is when a person puts onto G-d the traits or attributes, that THEY personally think or believe that G-d has or does not have. Instead of letting G-d be who and what He is. IF if is HIS Will to become part human and live among us, who do we think we are to question that ability of HIS.

He can and does do what is in His Power to accomplish.

No. We believe the God is one in essence and three persons coexisting and coequal. We do not believe that He is one singular ego. The relationship of the three person to each other is what it is all about.

"And the word became flesh and dwelled among us."

How can a saviour bring God and man together, unless he is both God and man. He must be man in order to represent man to God, and he must be God in order to represent God to man.

I think that if you self-identify as a monotheist, then no matter how vague and murky your theology is, it's true.
