Lexapro is one of the best anti-depressants I have ever used...Also Celexa/generic Citalopram---all three of these are very close.....they have worked very similarly for me....

I have felt the best while taking any one (1) not all of these medications at the same time. I have had no side effects with any of these. I currently take the Citalopram...the reason, the cost....it is only about 7.00 per month. Again, I have no adverse side effects and I have been taking this medication for almost 3 years......
Hopefully, I will not have to change.
GOOD LUCK to you.....

Yes. I had nausea for the first 2 or 3 days and then it passed. Each time my dose was raised I experienced the nausea but, again, it passed in a couple of days. It took me 6 weeks and 20mg to feel the Lexapro working at all. I'm now on 30mg and it's doing a lot for my depression. It doesn't help with my anxiety though.

This is actually a really good antidepressent for many! But for the first couple weeks, I felt like I had morning sickness! And afternoon, evening. Riding in a car was like a barf-a-rama waiting to happen. But the side effects did subside. I was also tired and dizzy for a couple weeks until the med "klcked in" and my body got used to it. The benefits are worth the yukkiness you may feel for those fourteen days or so. Not everyone gets those side effects either. I just figured, I had depression and anxiety for 30 something years, I can deal with a relatively short time of discomfort!!!!!!

I was on lexapro, the only side effect was sleepiness. I felt sick, but thats only because I was so depressed. This had the least amount of side effects to me than other anti-depressants. It worked, but then again, all bodied respond differently to medication.

I was slightly nauseous when I first took it, but that only lasted a few hours and it wasn't very severe. Most side effects dissipate after a while on the med.
