No, I don't agree. It seems to me that it's usually religious differences and religious dogma that makes people intolerant of other people. Largely atheist societies seem to be rather more relaxed and tolerant.

No
Christians who are tolerant of others are not living up to what it means to be a True Christian
The word "tolerance" never even appeared in scripture until the 60's and 70's when the NEW American Standard and NEW International versions of the bible came into being. In the King James and original American Standard versions the word used was "forbearance" which itself could imply something altogether different. It should also be noted that at the time the NEW versions of the bible were printed, Marxist liberals were tenaciously teaching tolerance as the NEW measure of morality in America from kindergarten through seminary.
The cross is a lot of things to a lot of people but it IS NOT a lesson in tolerance. If God were tolerant of sin He never would have sacrificed His "Only Begotten" to suffer and die so horrendously for the likes of you and me.

It is not necessary.
Any person can be tolerant to the maximum level while not being religious at all and vice versa. But usually those people who are more religious have beeb observed to be more tollerant. But it is not a hard and fast rule.
This is for *proud*muslimah beat*...
My best advice is to you dear, since your are hidden behind these digital walls..
Never ever comment about anything you know nothing about. Any religion is to be respected and quoting few lines does not tell every thing. Religion without history is incomplete.
Good luck young fella.. be decent next time. yours is objectionable speech.

In theory Yes. As long as they don't bring self-righteousness into it, which is always a danger on the way, whatever your religion or belief system. But a truly pious person would not be self-righteous. So I would prefer to say a more pious person may be more tolerant :)

Some religions are very intolerant.
I would say the more God like, the more tolerant.
Many religions have too many man made teachings of intolerance for political or personal gains.
