on the M25 junction 4 to 1a. has anyone been caught? do you know anyone who has? I am almost sure they don't work on this particular stretch. or anywhere for that matter.

They had them for a while at Stockport, Greater Manchester on the M60 (40mph during major road works) and I know someone who was sent a fine earlier this year. He was pretty miffed as he was sure they had stuck to the speed limit as he had already got points on his license due to a speeding fine on the M6

I can't speak for that particular stretch, but average speed cameras DO work. They work by reading your numberplate at two (or more) points along the road, and then calculating your average speed from the known distance and the times your plate was read.

the trick is to flow into the fee capture in a million lane i.e left hand lane then go out it in yet another lane, like the spectacular hand factor. the dumb government did no longer link the cameras to multi lanes while the designed this lol

Generally there's so much traffic there so you can't break the limit
