So I have been seeing this girl for about 2 months. She has stated that she likes me, but doesn't want to be tied down.
Tonight she calls me and says that she is really starting to have feelings for me, but thinks it might just be because we talk on the phone so much. She is in D.C. on an internship until August, I am in Indiana.
I said that is fine, we can limit the phone calls. Then she said that she doesn't want me planning anything for when she gets back. She wants to see me, just doesn't want me saying I am looking forward to seeing her. I was fine with that too.
Then she said, that she just doesn't know what kind of future she sees with me.
So at this point, I am angry. And I tell her, well I have been dating around. I am just not ready to settle down right now. Its not fair for me or whoever I end up with.
We get off the phone. She texts me and says that she would have rather have not known I was dating around?
Why is she mad about that? What should I do to fix it?

I just don't where to go from here? I really feel awful and can't ignore the sick feeling I have in my stomach.
I never wanted to hurt her.
What should I say? That I didn't mean to say what I did?

Sounds to me that she's one confused person. She is starting to have feelings for her and it scares her. She wants to keep control of her feelings so she doesn't get hurt. So she's sort of rejecting you before you can reject her.
Since she's giving you mixed messages, i.e., not telling you what she's really feeling, when you said that to her, it hurt her feelings.

She has more feelings for you then she wants. She probably doesn't want to settle down because of her career, or school, or maybe just because she knows you don't want to. However there is definatly some part of her that wants the two of you to get together. She's probably very torn with herself on what she wants to do. If your not interested in her it might be better to just say strait up that you don't want it to go anywhere. If you do like her say the opposite.
Just be honnest with her, You might have to make the decision for her, but that would definatly be my guess at the situation.

I don't really think she's mad (based on what u said) but maybe ti's just that u hurt her feelings...u could apologiz and tell her that u were mad when u said that or just call her and talk about something else...

Next time, just crush your thumbs w/a hammer. Its alot smarter, and will get the attention you're trying to get. Bragging rites will leave spur marks that last in the other persons mind for ever!! to late for this 1, just learn to keep your mouth shut!!!!!!!!!

looks like she cares a lot for you. tell her that your were playing with her and that you would like to be with her. bet you that will work
