consider this. any class you've ever taken, before you were sent out to take care of a homework assignment, the teacher usually acquainted you with the material by giving you sample questions or problems. this is to aid you in thinking of the proper way to answer or solve them. it wouldn't necessarily be fair for a teacher to just give you an assignment without any preparation. yet in the bible we're taught that we were given jesus as the perfect example by which to live our lives. keep in mind, this is some 4000 years after man had already been around, biblically speaking of course. wouldn't you say this is somewhat poor planning on god's part if he did indeed want us to be christ-like? shouldn't he have sent jesus much earlier, like maybe before adam and eve, so they would have a better example to live by? your thoughts?

Are you second guessing God?

Jesus' life on earth was an example of what our RELATIONSHIP with God should be like. True Christians don't follow Jesus' example as a moral leader-- we always miserably fail to measure up to His standards. He is perfect, we aren't.
All God wants us to do is enter into a RELATIONSHIP with Him, by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He, then, will take care of the changing of our lives in little steps as we walk "in step with the Holy Spirit".
Those who WANTED to obey God in the OT were given the ability to do so, even before Jesus came.

god has different plans for different generations
everything is predestined , actually

we cannot compare things like assignments to spiritual things such as what is written in the bible

in early days, god was communicating with the people and god was taking care of man's sin by way of sacrifices, usually animals sacrifices were given to god and those animals must be perfect, without deformities etc

but later when god saw that animal sacrifices were , maybe , not enough for all the human race
then he decided to send his won, jesus, who was god, philippians 2:6, to be the human, perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins for all those who believe

actually this is the main thing why jesus came, yes, maybe to be our model is another thing, but the main thing is to save humanity by being the sacrifice, to die on the cross, and therefore the timing must be perfect, first there were animal sacrifices, then the sinless man-god who was nailed and died as the last sacrifice for our sins

this is the main thing, therefore there is no problem with the timing that u mentioned in your question

Yes, it does seem like poor planning, doesn't it? One more reason to conclude that the stories in the Bible are not meant to be taken literally, but as myth and metaphor.
