Noel,
I'm supporting 100% pf your questions that your asking atheists. A lot of them are answering with answers like " Why dont you believe in Zeus, or any other god?" and i have an answer for them. Jesus came to me, to us, he knew you and I personally before our parents were even born. He never left our side. I asked Jesus to be my personal savior and he did, he came to me. For any other "god" its not like that, they dont save you, they're not with you, and they don't care about you. Zeus doesn't wait around for people to believe in him, Zeus, didnt send his only son to save you and I, who arent worthy. This is simply because Zeus, or any other god besides... well God.. doesn't exsist. I not only believe this but i know this. And i hope you continue with your Gospel Journey and give your every effort to share God's word with everyone you possibly can. Every person you meet, imagine "hell bound" writen on they're foreheads.. we've gotta save them.. its our mission.. but you and i both know we cant do it alone.
God bless.

How do you determine what you will believe on faith alone? What appeals to you and what you wish to be true I am guessing? Do you also take the ideas of unicorns and faeries and the easter bunny on faith? One can say I believe in the Easter bunny because I have faith and I don't need proof. Most people would laugh that off, why does the idea of God get a pass?
I believe in many things beyond religion. I believe in the love of my family, the ability of humans to adapt and solve problems, human rights and dignity, equality, and freedom to name just a few. There maybe some elements of faith in these beliefs but I also feel they are supported by experience, history, and evidence.

Many atheists don't believe in god, because there is no tangible proof for them, when it comes to god, it is a matter of faith and feeling and these things cant really be shown in a way to convince a non believer. I myself am not a christian, but believe in god because I feel that the proof is in our existence. That is my truth, but not a fact I can prove, so it's not my place to tell others that they're wrong. You maybe wouldn't approve of me being a pagan, but how can you prove that I'm wrong? How can you prove to me that your god is the one and only? Quoting the bible is no good to a non believer, because to them it's just a book. The simple answer is that you cant prove that your god is right, or that he even exists. Some of the atheists I know are super smart, and you would lose the debate with them, and end up proving nothing in the end. So, to end things here, let me just say that religion is something felt and not proven, beating some one over the head with yours will only piss them off.

You say you decided to accept your god on the basis of "faith." "Faith" is a belief in something contrary to all contradicting evidence. In other words, purposeful ignorance.
You identify yourself as a christian. To be a christian, one must accept the "truth" of the bible. Correct? That being the case, you must accept that the Earth is flat, the Sun rotates around the Earth, that bats are birds and dozens of other examples that are known to be false by most first-graders. So, as the only tangible connection between a christian and his/her god is the bible and the bible is obviously based on bad information, what supports your christian "faith?" Nothing.
What do atheists have "faith" in? An atheist has no need for "faith." Their beliefs are based on their acceptance of the limitless power of a free mind, provable facts and the superiority of knowledge in the face of ignorance.

Why don't you believe in the next 2000 gods in line?
You can choose to believe, so why can't atheist choose not to believe? Just because you believed in a fiction character does not mean it is real or right.
I have faith in a lot things, love from my siblings, my dog who will fetch my slippers, my wife and many others, but imaginative creature is not in the list.

You chose to believe based on faith. Atheists choose to believe in themselves to control their own destiny. You made a choice, and that's respected. Other people made a choice not to believe because they need proof. Faith alone is not enough for them.

You chose to believe in God and I chose not to. Why does that bother you? You have faith in something that has no proof. If that's good enough for you, then so be it. Faith is believing something is true that is irrational. I'm rational, and I need evidence.

Right, there is no proof, but then you ask what do atheists have faith in. If I may answer as an agnostic, I will tell you what I have faith in. I have faith in the Earth, Air, Fire and Water. I have faith in the human spirit and in our capacity for many things both good and evil, for compassion and indifference, in tenderness and violence, in charity and in selfishness. I have faith in the seasons of the Earth and the phases of the moon. I have faith in my love for my family and in their love for me. I have faith when I drive my car that the other drivers will respect the rules of the road. I have faith in the circles of life, death and re-birth. I have faith that humans won't destroy our only home, Mother Earth. An I have faith that I will return to the womb of the Earth someday.
Blessings to you on your spiritual path.

Well, perhaps Atheists don't need faith. Like you made clear, the belief in God is not about proving He's there, it's about knowing He's there, and that there's no need for proof, because you believe He's there. Religion is all about faith, and the primary function of faith is to lead believers down a path of happiness, self-fufillment, and to have a sense of meaning. Atheists feel that they don't need faith to be happy. Some feel the need to disprove religion once and for all, because they don't particularly believe in it. Others are happy within themselves, and simply don't care who believes in what, as long as they're happy with themselves. Atheism is about not having faith, about not needing faith. So those who don't need it aren't religious. Those who do are religious, and it doesn't matter what religion they believe in, because, as I made clear, they all have one linkable purpose: to use faith to instill lifelong happiness. To each their own.

One example: Catholicism has a lot of violent things in it
- stone gays
- sell daughter for slavery
- kill farmers with 2+ types of crops
watch "penn and teller bible myth" on youtube. You may realize why some people are atheist. I am, there are a lot of reasons though. the lyrics of "slayer - cult" explain that quite well.
