Because they are dumb. They cannot draw people to Christianity through love, as the 12 Apostles did, so they resort to striking fear in their victims. I say this as a Christian.

In my mind, the wages for sin is death, not hell, so when I try to "convert" people, I show them the life Christ offers, in contrast to most Christians who show them torments that they say Christ taught.

By the way, "gospel" means "good news" not "bad news."

You are right when you say that God doesn't want to have people worship begrudgingly. I don't know why my Christian bretheren don't just preach the Gospel. That's what we are supposed to do.

The Gospel is: Jesus died for our sins. And whoever wants to may trust Him for what He did. If we trust Him for what He did, then we are also saved and a part of His kingdom.

So now that you've seen the Gospel message, what are you going to do?

God Is love. And the price for all sin is death. Hell is something humans concockted in their midevil deranged minds and has Nothing to do with God or Jesus. No wonder there are so many atheists out there today.

People are in different growth stages of their Christian lives. You will find that new believers are just focusing on the judgment of God . When they read deeper into the scriptures they will eventually see what God's ultimate plan and desire is for us. Once you are full grown in Christ you possess what Jesus possesses which is patience, kindness, love forgiveness. It is a long process so have patience with our young believers.

Fear is the oldest used tool of christianity. Only tactics have changed- Instead of forcibly converting people by threat of physical death, they now do it with verbal threats. Often while smiling. Hey, I guess that qualifies as evolution!

Because it worked in the past and probably still does.

Why do companies sell security systems by telling you someone is going to break into your house.

I think you're right. It's certainly not the most effective incentive for coming to God.

I love God because He went through hell to remove that consequence of my sin from me. I love God because He first loved me. I KNOW I deserve hell. But I love God because He took away my fear of it.

Fear is always a powerful motivator. Unless, of course, one has conquered all their fear, which I doubt any of us can say. Mind you, the kind of person who uses Fear to motivate is hardly someone I'd respect the opinion of, especially in regards to spiritual matters.

It's not that at all. Christians and christian churches teach the whole truth, which includes the hope and the warnings. They teach about the love of Jesus who died and saved mankind from the penalty of his sins AND the consequences if man chooses not to accept this free gift of salvation, which is dying in your own sins and paying your own price = hell.

No, but if you're about to walk through the woods & I know there is a huge pit in the middle filled with snakes would you rather I warn you about it & let you make an informed decision or just let you walk in blindly & wish you the best of luck?
