Actually Jesus was against praying in public. He denounced those who did in his time. He told them to go to a secluded place to talk to their father and quit trying to prove something to other human beings in that respect.

isn't this a free country. Why do you persecute them?
You'd probably stand up for the right of two gay men to kiss in the mall, yet you criticize someone praying?

First of all, it is their constitutional right to pray to whomever they wish to pray to, where ever and whenever.

I'm not ashamed to say a blessing before I eat in public. I'm thanking the Lord for my meal.

BTW, I worked in a mall...you really should pray before you eat the food...-shudders-

Some people are just used to pray to their 'Imaginary Friend' before eating wherever they are. I wonder if they pray before having a snack between meals like eating a cookie. Do they pray before eating like one Cookie or some peanuts?

God is very real, and Christians pray over our food to give thanks to Him who has provided it.

**Jesus did not teach that it is wrong to pray in public. He taught that it's wrong to pray publicly in order to be seen by others-- as a way of being prideful and self-righteous.

They don't pray to an imaginary friend, they pray to God, giving thanks for the food and their lives. God is not imaginary. He is very real, and He read your question and will remember you asked it and what was in your heart when you did.

Because if you don't thank Him for anything else in your life thank Him for at least having food to sit down to and eat.

If you mean why do people pray before they eat, it's because they are grateful for the nourishment God has provided for them.

And what does it matter to you? Does it somehow disrupt your day when you see someone who has faith?

because they believe in a higher power greater than them and their thankin that spirit or god for the food that there about to receive. they pray to the higher being in accordance to their beliefs
