My husband keeps saying squoze; that just can't be right

The jury is out on that one . Your husband is not wrong and the verb was taught as "Squeeze. Squoze .Squeezed" like "Freeze. Froze. Freezed" (Present. Preterite. Past participle) at one time in UK. The word does not appear to be used in American English. "Squoze" is certainly used in literature and it is not unusual to hear "She squoze by with difficulty" although "She squeezed my hand" seems to be the general rule.
Modern usage leans towards "squeezed" which is deemed to be the more correct form, whilst "squoze" is classed as an urban term.

depends on the way you use it. You can say squeezed, but you mad need to say have squeezed or had squeezed. But never squoze...lol.

It's "squeezed",but I like the word "squoze," LOL! I think it should be acceptable.I mean,the past tense of freeze is froze!

Squeezed. "Squoze" is an analogical reinterpretation based on "freeze/froze".
