No. Check out www.stutteringhelp.org for causes of stuttering. I never liked it when people tried to tickle me when I was young, and I expect there are babies that don't like it and wish people would do more intelligent things to entertain themselves.

Yes it can. I had a friend in HS that when he was younger his whole family tickled him non-stop and when he got older he had an aweful stuttering problem. Sometimes you couldn't understand what he was saying, it was so bad. I guess his pediatrician told his family it was from excessive tickling b/c when the found out I was expecting my first they drilled it into my head everytime I saw one of them.

Tickling is good for children. It get's them to let loose and lighten up and really relieves the soul. Just don't over do it.

Whoever told you that is a moron. Stuttering is neurological. I know lots of friends who were tickled constantly as children, and they speak just fine.

Many times, stress causes stuttering. If tickling is stressful, then yes.

Well I tickled my little brother all the time. HE STUTTERS SOO MUCH!!!

no, just like stepping on a crack will break your mothers back. it is just all old wives tales.

my little girl loves to be flipped upside down and ever time my mother-in-law sees it she says "don't do it, you are gonna flip her liver" omg, where do they come up with this stuff.
