Probably the same thing it means with me. I don't like to be touched. I don't like it when folks get too close into my "personal space" I was abused as a child, and still carry the battle scars. I lost a perfectly good girlfriend because she just wanted to hang on me all the time, and I just freaked out on it. She thought I did not like her, I did, I just had not figured out how to let folks get close yet.

I dunno...what's up with that? You are doing it, shouldn't you be asking yourself that question?

I would say be perfectly honest with yourself and take a look at your life; how were you brought up, did dad and mom smack you around? Did you have siblings that smacked you around? Do you live in a dangerous neighborhood or household? What are you thinking when you flinch, does some memory flash in your mind?

My suggestion, go see a counselor for talk therapy and find out what's going on.

Were you abused when you were little? Do you experience nightmares? Was your father a harsh disciplinarian? Or your mother? Or your older brothers or sisters?

Have you been in a traumatic circumstance?

Why don't you go see a psychologist?

sounds like a minor symptom of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) usually happens after a traumatic event to you or one you have witnessed, have you ever been abused, or witnessed other people being abused or beaten? if so, chances are that you might be suffering from PTSD. you should ask your doctor he could be able to help you.
