The correct information is that every cruise line (except Carnival) requires that AT LEAST ONE PASSENGER IN EACH CABIN be age 21 or over. Carnival requires at least one to be 25 or older.

You cannot go on a cruise by yourself because all cabins are booked based on DOUBLE OCCUPANCY: that means two people per cabin. So all you need is a person age 21 or older to be in your cabin (i.e., mom, dad, brother, sister, friend, cousin, stranger, ANYBODY!!!). Then you and two others under the age of 21 can go too.

Whenever you cruise they ask for positive ID, usually a passport because all cruises do go to countries other than the US. For the rest of this year there are exceptions and you can use a birth certificate and photo ID, but starting January 1, 2008 a passport will be required of EVERYONE for ALL cruises.

When you reserve a cruise you must indicate which of these ID's you will use and then when you arrive at the port to check in they will ask to see those and they do look carefully at them. YOU CANNOT USE SOMEONE ELSE'S ID. If you try you are likely to be arrested as a terrorist , or something.

So, find a cousin over the age of 21 (25 for Carnival ships) to go with you.

I agree - probably wouldn't work anyway. Plus, since the ID is a required security measure just like at the airport, it would be a big deal (and trouble, too) if you were caught.

Most cruises require a passport, so trying to use a false I.D. is not going to work.

It will not work because of all the documents required.
