Duke's in Waikiki is a great answer! I don't live on Oahu but I go to Duke's whenever I am there. There is also a Duke's on Kauai (where I live) and it's nice but it's not as much fun as the one in Waikiki.

On Kauai if I'm not hanging out at the beach I am usually hanging out at a friend's house. Not very exciting, is it? I mean, it's great for ME, but if you're planning to visit, that doesn't sound too thrilling. Sorry.

Hey you can do both at the same time here. Dukes at Waikiki is probably some of the best people watching on Sunday afternoon. I really like La Mariana restaurant out at
Sand Island. The north shore is always a kick and I used to love going to the Sugar Bar. A real dive bar that had bikers and brawls great drinks and pretty girls. But... Last I heard it was closed down. Also... Giovanis shrimp truck on the NS is some of the best scampi in the world. You can hear many languages while scarfing the great shrimp and smoothies. Hawaii Yacht club at the Ala Moana Harbor/Waikiki is fun and inexpensive. Just wander in or ask at the front gate for a tour. There is a great little taco stand at the Harbor as well. Called Tropical licks, Its right ac cross from the Chart house. Good Stuff!! More if you need it. drop me an email.

Too many to pick just one. Diamond Head is amazing. The work that must have gone into digging the tunnels and building the stairs...all by hand under secrecy is just fascinating to me.
The Palace. Beautiful, and full of Hawaiian history.....and sadness with the death of the broken hearted King so soon after his young son. There is also the graveyards on King street across from the palace. So many children buried there. I believe, from a small pox epidemic.
Hawaii is a place of great beauty and rich culture. Too bad modernization and greed has destroyed so much of it.
