I ask my muslim brothers and sisters to take this example. Why are there riots when it was clearly not the way of the Prophet (PBUH)?

Here is a quote from a book I am currently reading. It is a biography of the Prophet (PBUH) entitled "Muhammad" and can be found on page 68.

"Abu Jahl, a prominent member of the Quraysh tribe, began to publicly slander and abuse Muhammad. One day he was particularly abusive, pushing, shoving, and taunting Muhammad in the street. Muhammad did not fiht back but simply retreated home."

What do you think of this?

Actually, it does say what happened after. His uncle Hamza who was a Christian found out, went to the guy, hit him once and made him apologize, and then converted to Islam.

There are riots because as more and more people congregate, the general level of thinking drops. When it reaches the null set, people become idiots and start throwing things.

Anarchy is infectious to the masses and some riots are organized and encouraged by a few for their own ends.
I bet your book doesn't say what happened to Abu Jahl later on.
