Thinking about purchasing a Deda Zero 100 Servizio Corse Stem.

The clamp size is 31.7. I have a 31.8 carbon bar.

Will the stem work with my bar or do Deda stems only work with Deda bars?

Thanks.

I would purchase the proper size stem for the bars. These parts are built to very low tolerances and any discrepancy could but uneven pressure on places you don't want it. For example, using a carbon bar in a steam that is to small would cause increased pressure where the stem meets the bar rather than a nice even distribution of weight. This could lead to failure. I'd invest in a higher end stem. Never ever take a file to a part like this. You are asking for trouble.

I must admit I dont know the definitive answer to this but as its a cheap stem, you could get it anyway and spend time with a small file.

You should file the clamp edges anyway if you have carbon bars (provided your stem is not carbon). Any high points or imperfections will severly weaken the bars.
