You cannot actually get rid of a cold you can only treat the syptoms it produces. The body's White blood cells are the ones that attack the virus and eventually kill it off and thats why you get the symptoms in the first place,.
Panadol or Tylenol (I think its called in America) helps to releive headaches and fever and body aches.
Echinachea is also effective in reducing the time you have a cold for. Vitamin C and Garlic Tablets help to releive the symptoms too.
Sorry to say but resting in bed doesnt really help it that much as it only increases the head aches and body aches. Remember to keep up the fluids as this helps the body's attack on the virus as well.

Hope this helps

A cold is a virus that has to run it's course. However, get Airborne from your drugstore and use as directed. You'll feel great in about 20 minutes after taking, and won't hardly know you are sick. Of course still rest and drink lots of liquid! But Airborne is a miracle!!! Feel better!

Hi Ven!
There is no proven specific treatment for a cold, but supportive measures may be helpful.

Saltwater nose drops (made from a teaspoon of salt and eight ounces of warm water) may be soothing every few hours.

Warm humidified air can alleviate congestion.

Increase fluid intake.

Drink about eight glasses of fluid daily.

Get plenty of bedrest.

Colds are actually viruses, so the best thing to do is treat the symptoms with dayquil and niquil, thats basically all you can do.

Unfortunately, you don't. D: All you can do is wait it out. Until then, chillax at home as much as you can to avoid spreading it.
